The HSL 2.75G Femtocell causes traffic from the macro network to be offloaded onto the femtocell network. The offload from the macro network reduces the capacity required within the macro network resulting in a reduction in macro network costs. The femtocell network, through the use of inexpensive femtocell BTS equipment and the secure use of broadband backhaul into the core network, has significantly less cost associated with it than the macro network, thus creating the potential for greater profitability.

Femtocell networks provide network coverage where subscribers need coverage and improves the quality of the subscriber experience when using your mobile network. This improvement in the subscriber experience greatly reduces indoor coverage as being a factor in subscriber churn to other mobile networks.

A trial of the HSL 2.75G Femtocell as part of your network is quick and inexpensive to undertake. The HSL GSM Base Station Controller (BSC) and third party SeGW network elements of the femtocell network are simple to deploy. The HSL 2.75G Femtocell is also completely plug-and-play for the subscriber.
