HSL GSM Essential

The GSM Essential software suite contains the core network elements that are necessary to operate a mobile network and to provide voice and SMS services. The software suite comprises elements present in the NSS (Network and Switching Subsystem).

Mobile originated and mobile terminated voice calls and SMS can be handled, with subscribers located on the HPLMN or roaming on a VPLMN. In order to enable subscribers to be located on the HPLMN and using its own RAN (Radio Access Network), the GSM Essential software suite should be used with an appropriate BSS (Base Station Subsystem). HSL provide a suitable BSS (HSL 2.75G Femtocell BSS) as do other vendors.

The software suite is provided free of charge for non-commercial use.
