As an operator of its own GSM network, HSL is involved in the development of GSM mobile network infrastructure and mobile network services.

HSL Mobile Networks are launching a new mobile network using established GSM/GPRS/EDGE technology that will compete with the existing UK mobile network operators such as O2, Orange, T-Mobile, H3G and Vodafone. Mobile service through this new network is expected to be available UK-wide during 2008. Coverage for the mobile service will come from roaming onto existing UK mobile networks, coverage hot-spots and 'on-net' coverage in customers' homes through HSL's development of a 2.75G femtocell device.

HSL's Mobile Networks division provide infrastructure development, including MSC/VLRs, BSCs, BTS (femtocell), SMSCs, HLR/AuCs, EIRs, in addition to mobile services.
